Today, we are breaking the ice with Laurence Pelchat, Account Executive. She's been with us for 2 years and 6 months.

  1. What's the coolest thing about your job?

For me, it’s having the opportunity  to engage with people from such diverse backgrounds, each with their own unique interests and ambitions. I really enjoy learning from my colleagues, who are all so knowledgeable and intellectually sharp.

It’s also pretty cool to be able to build genuine relationships with my clients, some of them have now become friends. These connections help me better understand their reality and propose logical solutions.

  1. What's your favourite hobby outside of work?

While I wouldn’t particularly consider this a hobby, one of my favorite ways to unwind outside of work involves spending time with my loved ones, preferably appreciating a nice bottle of wine :) My partner and I also love exploring the underwater world through scuba diving, which has encouraged us to travel to awesome destinations worldwide.

  1. What's the best advice you've ever received?

If you don’t ask, you don’t get.

For me, this signifies two things. First, you cannot let your fear of being rejected hold you back from asking for what you want,  people do not  know if you don’t tell them. Secondly , you need to have clarity on what you want if you ever want to advance in life, people will rarely just hand it to you.

  1. If you could switch roles with someone for a day, who would it be and why?

It’s a dream of mine to eventually do a Safari experience, so I guess if in the near future I could switch places with someone for a day it’d be with one of those people who have created special bonds with lions, tigers and other wild animals!

  1. What's a fun fact about you that most people would not guess?

I went to college in Montana and played NCAA Division 1 tennis for 4 years, but when I arrived at 18 years old, I could barely speak English...

I was born and raised in a small town, an hour north of Montreal, I grew up skiing and snowboarding while speaking only French.

In my teenage years, I started getting better results and competing on the national level in Tennis, which allowed me to secure a full scholarship, live in the USA for 4 years and travel all over the country.
