Summary

Goals Achieved

By modernizing CN’s infrastructure in the cloud, Arctiq helped enable the Customer to be able to securely move their mission critical applications from on-premises to Google Cloud’s always-on global network. Moving to the cloud allows CN to scale with customer and industry demands, simplifies their internal IT operations, creates efficiencies, and reduces product delivery and capacity planning.

Challenge

CN Rail is a foundational company with a traditional technology stack, but maintained a strong desire to move to microservices in its early days of business transformation. CN was initially evaluating a few Kubernetes platforms in their efforts to shift to containerize their applications, and after evaluation they have chosen to be all in with Google Anthos.

Solution

This engagement started out as a funded pilot and training for CN Rail's developers where Arctiq was able that not only deliver a GKE On-Prem cluster, but also train the CN's Subject Matter Experts on the benefits of Anthos (beyond solely technical aspects). By investing the time, Arctiq is now assisting with GCP Projects.

Seven-year partnership will enable CN’s strategic plan, powering sustainable growth over the coming decade for customers, people, and communities

Results

It has been a sincere pleasure working with Arctiq over the past year on the Hybrid Cloud Program at CN Rail. Arctiq stepped up to the complex challenge of helping roll out Anthos foundations for managing CN’s applications (hybrid and multi-cloud). Arctiq was extremely responsive to our needs, had fantastic client relationship management skills, and provided effective and timely communication.
